Evidence of the Bombing

Harry Truman became president of the United States on April 12, 1945 after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Presidant Truman ordered the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. He approved the bomb to drop on Hiroshima on August 6 and the bomb on Nagasaki three days later on August 9, 1945.

Preaidant Truman quoted that we had to use it in order to avenge the fallen men of Pearl Harbor.

"Having found the bomb we have used it. We have used it against those who attacked us without warning at Pearl Harbor, against those who have starved and beaten and executed American prisoners of war, against those who have abandoned all pretense of obeying international laws of warfare. We have used it in order to shorten the agony of war, in order to save the lives of thousands and thousands of young Americans."
